Countdown to Thanksgiving

Psalm 95:1-7

O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD,  let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods, in Whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also.

The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.

Today if you would His voice, do not harden your hearts . . .

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

When God Ran

Luke Chapter 15 Verses 18 – 20    I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.”

So he got up and came to his father.  But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

Luke Chapter 15 Verse 7     I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.     (NASB)

JOY! JOY! JOY!

Isaiah Chapter 12

Then you will say on that day,
“I will give thanks to You, O Lord;
For although You were angry with me,
Your anger is turned away,
And You comfort me.
“Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
For the Lord God is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”

Therefore you will joyously draw water
From the springs of salvation.
And in that day you will say,
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples;
[a]Make them remember that His name is exalted.”
Praise the Lord in song, for He has done [b]excellent things;
Let this be known throughout the earth.
Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

Unity

Psalm 133 Verses 1 and 2      Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!    It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes.     (NASB)

Psalm 30 Verse 5b      Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.   (NASB)

Create In Me A Clean Heart

Psalm 51 Verses 10-12    Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.     Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.    (NASB)

Sing With Joy

John Chapter 3 Verses 16  – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.

 Psalm 96 Verse 2 – Sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.

Monday we read in our Verse of the Day that we are adopted into the family of God because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.    Yesterday we read that we have an inheritance; a hope of eternal life with Him.  Not because of any good deeds that we have done, but all because of JESUS CHRIST.  He paid a debt He did not owe.  I had a debt I could not pay.

That is the good news of the gospel!   That is the joy of our salvation!

Joy

Psalm 95 Verse 1

O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.               (NASB)

On January 1st we sent out some suggested resolutions for 2015; we have covered the first three which were to praise GOD daily, be thankful, and focus on GOD.  Today, we cover number four – to have the JOY of our salvation.    Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.  I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind but now I see!   When we’ve been there 10,000 years bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise then when we first begun!

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary
