Revelation Chapter 19, Verses 11 – 16
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice HE judges and makes war. HIS eyes are like blazing fire, and on HIS head are many crowns. HE has a name written on HIM that no one knows but HE HIMSELF. HE is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and HIS name is the Word of GOD. The armies of heaven were following HIM, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of HIS mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On HIS robe and on HIS thigh HE has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (NIV)
Today’s verse tells us of the soon coming triumphant return of Jesus’ second coming. He will soon return to the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem and bring with HIM total victory.
In John Chapter 1:1-2, the apostle states: “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was God. He was with GOD in the beginning.” In Revelation 19, John tells us that this same ONE, called the WORD, who ascended to heaven in Acts Chapter 1, will soon be returning!
Philippians Chapter 2:9-11 reminds us that: “…God exalted HIM to the highest place and gave HIM the name that is above every name that at the name of JESUS ever knee should bow…and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of GOD the Father.” Now THAT is awesome! We are reminded that everyone is going to bow before JESUS. We will either be bowing in submission to HIM as our Savior or be bowing in fear as we see the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS returning in dramatic fashion.
What is your relationship with JESUS today? Is HE your LORD and Savior? When you hear of HIS return do you tremble with fear? If you have never made HIM the Lord of your life, do it today. Don’t let this day pass you by, for HE is coming soon!
