Day 5 of our Countdown

Colossians Chapter 3 Verses 12-17

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.  Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.   For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.  And always be thankful.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives.  Teach and counsel each other with all wisdom He gives.  Sing psalms and hymns and  spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.  And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

Day 6 of our Countdown to Thanksgiving

1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 Verses 12-18

Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are you leaders in the Lord’s work.  They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.  Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work.  And live peacefully with each other.

Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy.  Encourage those who are timid.  Take tender care of those who are weak.  Be patient with everyone.

See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.

Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

Thanksgiving Countdown #4

Isaiah 12

In that day you will sing:  “I will praise You, O LORD!  You were angry with me, but not any more.  Now You comfort me.  See, God has come to save me.  I will trust in Him and not be afraid.  The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; He has given me victory.”

With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!  In that wonderful day you will sing:  “Thank the LORD!  Praise His Name!  Tell the nations what He has done.  Let them know how mighty He is!

Sing to the LORD, for He has done wonderful things.   Make known His praise around the world.  Let all the people of Jerusalem shout His praise with joy!   For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.

Thank GOD for Salvation through Jesus Christ!

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING #3

2 Corinthians Chapter 4 Verses 15-18

For all things are for our sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.  For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Let us remember to count our blessings – daily.  Not only during this season of “Thanksgiving”, but in every season.  The good times and the bad times.   As the old hymn says, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done!”

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

Countdown to Thanksgiving

Psalm 95:1-7

O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD,  let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods, in Whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also.

The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.

Today if you would His voice, do not harden your hearts . . .

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary
