God Can Do Anything!

Matthew Chapter 9 Verse 28-30a

And when He (Jesus) was come into the house, the blind men came to Him and; Jesus saith unto them, “Do you believe I am able to do this?”    They said unto Him, “Yea, Lord.”  Then He touched their eyes saying, “According to your faith be it unto you.”  And their eyes were opened.     (KJV)

I have always been drawn to the miracles of the Bible.  Perhaps it is because I have witnessed so many modern day miracles in my own life.  My heart stopped beating and I *technically* died at age 20.  I was given a 10% chance to live.  I witnessed my son saved from death 4 separate times.  As I was reading tonight from my 1 year Bible plan, I came across this in Matthew Chapter 9.  Jesus had already healed Peter’ mother-in-law; two different men with palsy; the woman suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years who touched His cloak; the twelve year old girl who died and He raised from the dead; and the two bind men (and the list continues). Not to mention He calmed the sea!  But something struck me. . .

Matthew 9:28-30a tells us, “And when He was come into the house, the blind men came to Him: and Jesus saith unto them, ‘Believe ye that I am able to do this?’  They said unto Him, ‘Yea, Lord.’  Then He touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith be it unto you.’  And their eyes were opened.”

Do we believe that God can meet our every need? Do we believe that He can fix our every problem?  Do we believe that He can sustain us through every challenge?  Do we believe that when there seems no way out of life’s problems, that He can provide a miracle?  Do we believe in hope?  Do we believe we can be healed? Healed of physical affliction? Emotional hurt?  When we petition God in prayer, we need to believe that He is the Way Maker.  And in those times when we are not even bold enough to pray for our needs, we need to know that God Can Do Anything!  He already knows our needs before we ask (Matthew 6:8).  In fact, He knows our needs better than we do.  If you don’t believe, pray that God lifts your unbelief, so the enemy has no foothold in your life!

Lord, we ask that you give us the courage to put our FULL trust in You without holding ANYTHING back.  Remove any doubt that keeps us from You.  Give us courage!  Speak to our hearts and make Your Will known unto us. Amen.

 In Christ,

Carrie

Wisdom

James Chapter 1 Verse  5

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach and it will be given to him.    (NASB)

This verse reminds us that wisdom for life matters is something that we can ask from our Heavenly Father.  Not only can we ask, but this verse reminds us the He will not turn us away!   If you are seeking GODLY WISDOM today, take some time to read the book of Proverbs which was written by King Solomon.   King Solomon asked GOD for wisdom to rule the people of Israel and GOD answered.   Be confident today as you ask HIM for Wisdom!

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

The Vine and the Branches

John Chapter 15 Verses 4-5

“Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.  For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches.  Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.   For apart from Me you can do nothing.”    (NLT)

In Christ,

Suffering

1 Peter Chapter 4 Verses 14 – 16 and Verse 19

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.  If you suffer, it should not be as a murder or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.   However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.  (NLT)

In Christ,

Stephen and Mary

Come to Me

Isaiah Chapter 40 verse 11

Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.

Matthew Chapter 11 Verses 28- 30

“Come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”          (NASB)

In this life we have many burdens, fears, and concerns.  Bring your burden to the LORD.  He is our loving Savior, He will not cast you away.  He will carry you in His arms.  He will lead and guide you.  Rest in Him.

Potter

Isaiah Chapter 64 Verse 8

But now, O LORD, You are our Father;  we are the clay, and You our Potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.               (NASB)

Have Thine own way, Lord; have Thine own way.

Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.

Mold me and make me after Thy will,

While I am waiting yielded and still.    (by G.C. Stebbins and A.A. Pollard)

Revelation Chapter 2 Verse 10b – Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.                (NASB)
